Learning to Let Go

Learning to let go is not simply an emotional activity, it is an activity of prioritizing. When you look at your past experiences, it is usually choosing something more important than the pain you feel which allows you to release the pain you have attached to. You prioritized the new thing on which you wanted to focus, and that released your previous focus. When you have attached to something which is not good for you, you are making that thing more important than yourself. In the world in which you live there are many things which tell you that they are bigger, brighter and more important than you are. To believe this means that you spend your life trying to get things outside of you to fill you. It is an unhappy and dangerous way to live. Choose what is truly important, even if you do not feel like doing it. The emotional attachment to things outside of you can damage your life. The most important thing on your path is you. Remember that when you are prioritizing the things on which you focus.
