Pain is a part of being human. We experience varying degrees of pain in our lives. While pain must be processed so that it can be released, it is not a good idea to choose pain as a part of our identity or to let it take up so much space in present time that there is no room for joy. The power to keep moving and the courage to do just that is a truly wonderful thing to integrate into your life. It is important to identify the voice that holds onto pain and to consciously choose to replace it with the voice of healing. The voice of pain tells you that what happened to you isn’t fair or that you were cheated. The voice of healing tells you that you survived and even overcame what happened to you. The change of energy when you respond to the voice of healing allows you to make a place in the present for joy.
