Intentions

When we attempt to control others with our words for their own good, we often have the best of intentions. It seems to us that our good intentions translate into what is good for those around us. Most of the time, that belief is not true. Each of us has a wheel and that wheel has lessons on it. Much of our experience of life involves learning those lessons and integrating them into our lives. When someone, however well meaning, intrudes on those lessons by telling us what is best in a situation, we are not left to learn the lesson in our own way and in our own time. It is a bit like taking a test an having someone tell you the answers before you have a chance to process the questions and find your own way to the answers. Silence can be a gift because it gives another person the space to be on their own wheel and to learn their own lessons.
