Respecting Your Path

As we travel through life, we learn. Some of the lessons are difficult, even painful, and some are lighter and easier. It is easy to find yourself upset when you encounter others who, not only have not learned the lessons you have learned, but are critical of the things you have learned. We are sometimes drawn into the trap of trying to explain or educate someone who is simply not in the place where they can understand or accept the things you know. The balanced response in many of these situations is to simply say, “This is what is true for me.” Let that be enough and let that be the way you respect your own growth and learning. In time, the other person may learn what you have learned, or they may not. Respecting your own path allows you to release control of someone else’s.
