Claiming Joy

Posted · Add Comment

The things in life that feed the heart are joyful. In any landscape, you will see everything. In a garden, there will always be weeds, but if you focus on those weeds you will never truly see the flowers. All of life operates in this way. When you choose to see the flowers in any situation, you are claiming the joy that is available to all of us. When you focus on the weeds, you rob yourself of the joyful experience. This is not an encouragement to be naive, or even to avoid pulling weeds. It is simply a matter of understanding the relationship between focus and joyful experience. Choose joy. Your heart will be grateful.
